Wheel of Souls 

is a poetic, intuitive, and mystical performance that invites the audience on a ritualistic journey of transformation and connection.

At its center stands a large steel installation — a wheel made of nine unicycles, with flying crows and symbolic objects representing Time and Space. The performance begins as the installation slowly “awakens,” drawing both performers Leila van wetten ,Thieu Smeets and audience into a shared act of discovery.
Thematically, the piece explores the space between life and death, dream and reality. It reflects on the human longing for unity and the power of collective movement — the idea that only together can we ignite the flame of life.
As the ritual unfolds, the performers are cast from the spinning wheel, descend into the underworld, and are symbolically reborn, carrying with them the Flame of Life. The performance ends with an intimate, poetic text about essence, homecoming, and the cyclical nature of existence.
